Lidl Surfacing Works, Scunthorpe.

This project required a two-step programme put in place by Calder C.A.D: 

Civil Engineering: 

Calder C.A.D. specialist civil engineering team conducted an initial assessment of the existing road conditions, traffic patterns and environmental impacts. Then the team developed a detailed design incorporating all necessary road and paving improvements. The team could then lay the foundations of the paving and roads around Lidl. This included the strengthening of sub-base material, followed by quality checks in order to ensure proper compaction and smoothness of the foundations. Incorporating an effective drainage system, into the foundations provided a weather resistant surface.

Surfacing: 

Once the foundations were laid, the surfacing team began to construct a base layer evenly distributing aggregates mixed with a binder course providing additional strength and load-bearing capacity, compacted thoroughly using a roller. The team then surfaced the road and pavement leading to the premium result shown by the pictures. This was finalised by the edging and kerbing of the road along with the final road markings to complete our client’s project.
